Frequently Asked Questions

Do I Need Any Background Knowledge to Attend Your Events?

🌿 Not at all — our events are designed for everyone. Whether you are completely new to these ideas or already have an interest in wellbeing, nature or food systems, you will find the sessions engaging, practical and easy to follow. All concepts are explained in clear, accessible language, so you can simply bring your curiosity and an open mind.

🌿 No — these events are not clinical assessments, treatment or therapy. They are educational and experiential workshops designed for the general public, focusing on practical skills and knowledge to support wellbeing. While I am a qualified psychiatrist, these sessions are not intended to replace personalised medical or mental health care. Whilst I bring the knowledge and experience of a psychiatrist, our time together is focused on education, exploration and practical skills — not diagnosis or consultation on personal medical care.

🌿 These events are designed for the general public and are not intended as a form of medical treatment, therapy or clinical care. If you have a diagnosed condition and are currently in therapy or under the care of a health professional, we recommend consulting your provider first to ensure that participation is suitable for you. Attendance is not a substitute for professional treatment and participants remain responsible for ensuring the event is appropriate for their circumstances.

🌿 Workshops are place-based and vary depending on the theme, collaborators and season. There is no fixed venue — instead, each event is carefully designed to suit the context and purpose. For example, some workshops may be held on farms, in community spaces or in natural settings that align with the topic being explored. Please refer to the event details for each workshop’s specific location.

🌿 Yes — Mind & Nature is based in Dunedin, but our workshops and talks can be offered in all regions across Aotearoa New Zealand. I am available to travel across the country to deliver workshops, talks or tailored wellbeing programmes, depending on availability and logistics. If you are based outside Dunedin and are interested in hosting a workshop or inviting me to speak, please get in touch with me.
